When people talk about self-esteem, they talk about too much or too little. Nobody ever talks about a good amount of self-esteem. This is because nobody focuses on the good, they immediately jump to the more exciting bad. Social media is the same way. There are many many more negative posts than there are positive posts. This can result in a lower self-esteem. You will rarely see a compliment on social media, unless its girls telling each other how pretty they are. What you will see however, is people making fun of one another or putting them down. When somebody sees a negative posts about them or their friends and family, they generally feel badly about themselves and lower their self-esteem.
